With platforms in HVAC and Detection and Measurement, SPX Technologies builds innovative solutions that enable a safer, more efficient, sustainable world. Through our RiSE talent development framework, we Reach, Identify, Strengthen, and Engage our employees to support them in their continued development. We’re a global company of problem solvers, collaborators, and innovators, and our businesses build solutions that impact the world.

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. We are opening a new campus facility that will have two of our businesses (Marley and Ingenia Technologies) evolving and growing together at SPX's very first campus.

How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. We are opening a new campus facility that will have two of our businesses (Marley and Ingenia Technologies) evolving and growing together at one site. As senior manufacturing engineer on this campus, you will play a crucial role in improving production efficiencies, reducing costs, and enhancing overall manufacturing processes. Key to this role will be to learn in a fast past environment.

This position is responsible for leading and advancing quality systems, product quality, supplier quality, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting the OlympusMAX production line and Ingenia engineered-to-order custom air handling unit operations. The Senior Quality Engineer will play an important role in establishing quality processes within a growing manufacturing operation while supporting operational readiness, product launches, and production scale‑up activities.

The incumbent will partner across Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and Continuous Improvement teams to build and sustain an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System (QMS). This role offers the opportunity to influence plant startup activities, develop quality systems, and shape long‑term operational excellence.

The Senior Quality Engineer will support both high‑volume manufacturing and low‑volume / high‑mix engineered‑to‑order environments while helping ensure exceptional product quality and customer experience. This role will lead problem‑solving initiatives, supplier development activities, customer quality engagements, and preventive quality improvements to enhance process capability, product performance, and customer satisfaction. The position will also support customer visits, supplier partnerships, audits, and certification activities.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to ensure product quality and conformance across OlympusMAX and Ingenia product lines
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve ISO 9001 quality systems, procedures, work instructions, and documentation supporting manufacturing operations
  • Support new facility startup activities including process validation, manufacturing readiness, quality planning, and launch activities
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal quality audits and maintain the audit program supporting ISO compliance requirements
  • Host and support customer audits, inspections, and manufacturing visits while coordinating corrective actions and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives including supplier audits, qualification activities, supplier development efforts, and corrective action processes
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Operations, and suppliers to improve incoming quality performance and strengthen supplier partnerships
  • Work closely with engineering and operations teams to improve process capability, product quality, and operational performance
  • Develop quality plans, PFMEAs, control plans, inspection strategies, and quality metrics supporting both standard production and engineered‑to‑order products
  • Provide coaching and quality guidance to production teams while supporting capability development and continuous learning
  • Support external certification audits and ongoing quality system compliance activities
  • Promote a culture of quality, teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer focus across the organization

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related technical environments
  • Experience developing, implementing, or improving ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems preferred
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, manufacturing startup, expansion, or process development activities preferred
  • Experience supporting customer audits, supplier audits, and quality system assessments preferred
  • Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA systems, PFMEA, control plans, and quality methodologies preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams and build collaborative relationships

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • ASQ CQE and CQA certifications preferred
  • SAP experience is preferred, but is not required

  • Travel will be required at times; Ingenia Headquarter located, QC Canada or other SPX locations such as Charlotte, NC or Overland, KS.

  • Office and manufacturing plant environment with varying degrees of noise levels and potential exposure to bad weather, excessive heat and/or excessive noise.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing and potentially working at heights.
