Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Senior Project Manager in Cedar Rapids, IA. The Senior Project Manager leads all phases of project delivery, overseeing teams, budgets, schedules, and contracts to ensure successful execution within the mission-critical and large-scale construction sectors. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage risk, drive financial performance, and maintain strong client relationships while making high-impact decisions that align with company goals.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $140,000 to $165,000 Annually BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage large-scale projects from pre-construction through final closeout, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Oversee project budgets, financial forecasting, cost control, and monthly contract valuations to ensure profitability.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication, issue resolution, and high customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with design teams, engineers, and general contractors to identify value engineering opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Manage and mentor project management staff, including Assistant Project Managers and field leadership, to support professional development.
  • Develop and maintain master project schedules, performing resource allocation and manpower planning as required.
  • Negotiate and execute subcontractor agreements and manage vendor performance to ensure compliant project delivery.
  • Review and process change orders, RFIs, and submittals while ensuring contract compliance and administrative accuracy.
  • Monitor job progress and ensure all field activities adhere to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, specifically within electrical, low-voltage, or large-scale commercial construction.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing high-value projects, preferably in hyperscale or data center environments.
  • Strong proficiency in project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project.
  • Expert knowledge of project financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate critical issues and manage diverse teams and subcontractor groups.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and strategic planning skills with a high degree of foresight and judgment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to project sites and perform field inspections as required.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, and kneel for prolonged periods.
  • May be exposed to heights, loud noises, and various environmental conditions at construction sites.
  • Ability to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Must be aware of and adhere to OSHA safety standards.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $140,000 to $165,000 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
