Owatonna, MN (Hybrid Schedule: In-office Monday, Wednesday, Thursday; Remote Tuesday and Friday)
Summary:
Seeking a Senior Project Designer to support complex product and project design initiatives while ensuring effective coordination across design, engineering, manufacturing, project management, sales, and installation teams. This role is responsible for design oversight, drawing review, project documentation, manufacturing support, 3D modeling, and technical problem resolution throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the facility.
Required / Mandatory Skills:
  • 2-year technical college certificate in Mechanical Drafting or a related field
  • 5+ years of product and/or project design experience
  • 5+ years of design-for-manufacturing (DFM) experience
  • Experience creating Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods and limitations
  • Expert ability to interpret architectural and mechanical drawings/blueprints
  • Experience with drawing development, dimensioning, tolerancing, and material selection
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout project execution
