Job Brief
Kable Workforce Solutions is hiring an Mechanical Engineer IV - Senior Engineer for our client. This job you will be responsible for representing the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. You will be responsible for designing large projects, preparing reports and specifications, and providing a high level of technical leadership.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
  • Conducts field inspections to determine existing conditions and to coordinate new work then assists Senior Engineer in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings.
  • Coordinates with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team
  • Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer perform equipment selections, load/energy and pressure drop calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes
  • Master’s drawing organization format and company standards
  • Assists senior engineer and/or senior designer in the on-going determination of project scheduling requirements, manpower requirements, and project budgets.
  • Assists the senior engineer / senior designer in processing RFI’s, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
  • Begins to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
  • Creates basic designs under the direction of the senior engineer and/or senior designer, develop specifications, system narratives and system layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes.
  • Participates in / Ensure / Oversee QA/QC process for your work and the work of others.
  • Performs construction administration and field investigation tasks for assigned projects including conducting field inspections and subsequent detailed inspections reports.
  • Represents Syska Hennessy Group and works in close contact with and effectively interact with the internal design team as well as external clients and consultants (including owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.)
  • Participates in various trade organizations and prepare presentations.
  • As appropriate, manages CAD/BIM and other technical staff that is assigned for particular project or task as directed by the senior engineer and/or senior designer.
  • Assists with employee reviews as requested.
  • Estimates construction costs and to evaluate feasibility of construction using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)
  • Writes engineering proposals under the direction of a senior engineer or senior designer for projects
What Are the Requirements of the Job?
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum of 7+/8+ years’ experience working in a consulting firm
  • LEED AP accreditation, highly preferred
  • Candidate should possess a strong ability to coordinate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, electrical, and telecom, as well as its constructability and cost
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT experience
  • EIT required, PE required for Senior Engineer
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
  • Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
  • Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Communication skills.
