Job description

The Senior Director - Adult Services serves on the Executive Leadership Team and reports to the Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer (SVP/COO). The Senior Director oversees Crystal Springs' Adult Services Division, including program development, quality assurance, staff management, and strategic growth initiatives. This includes implementing innovative programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with The Director of Nursing and Director of Behavior Services to support adults and families. The Senior Director is also responsible for identifying new program opportunities, partnerships, and funding sources to expand services and enhance the organization's impact.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or higher preferred in human services, health care, education, psychology, social work, or related field.
  • Ten years or more of leadership experience serving adults with developmental disabilities with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • CPR, First Aid, & MAP certifications must be obtained within 3 months of hire and maintained during employment.
  • Proficiency in organizational leadership, communications, and the ability to develop and execute strategic goals and objectives, pivoting as both internal and external stakeholder needs change or develop.
  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach mid-level staff to manage and develop high-performance teams and develop and implement company strategies.
  • Proficiency in budget preparation, financial management, and cost control strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, promote best practices, effectively manage crises, and maintain executive presence.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, regulations and policies as they relate to the administrative and financial management of non-profit organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of licensing regulations including but not limited to MA DDS, CARF, and CMS regulations.
  • Knowledge of the municipal and state purchasing service system (including RFR's, audit preparation, UFR's, billing, and contracting).


DUTIES AND RESPNSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategy, provide vision, and leadership to all Adult Services programs and align operations with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and serve as a liaison between the Adult Services Division and the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Provide direct supervision and performance management to key Adult Services staff through structured oversight, performance evaluations, and coaching while fostering high-performing teams.
  • Develop, prepare, and manage budgets for programs and services, ensuring responsible financial management and oversight of payroll processes, monitor census and spending, and recommend budget amendments.
  • Identify opportunities and lead strategic development initiatives for program growth, including new services and partnerships, and write proposals/grants for funding and expansion.
  • Develop, monitor, and refine continuous quality improvement initiatives, including internal audits, corrective actions, performance metrics, and conduct regular case reviews to assess treatment progress and ensure compliance with regulations and organizational standards.
  • Oversee incident reporting, internal investigations, and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Respond to emergencies, participate in on-call coverage, and support crisis intervention strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with and lead interdisciplinary teams to implement effective treatment plans using evidence-based practices and coordinate with Nursing, Behavioral Services, Finance, and other departments to ensure cohesive service delivery.
  • Create, maintain, and implement effective policies that guide operations and ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Oversee the implementation of residential and day habilitation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant standards including but not limited to DDS, CMS, CARF, etc.
  • Support the Adult Services Teams in managing staff effectively, including recruitment, training, retention and performance evaluations while ensuring compliance with HR policies.
  • Represent Adult Services at external stakeholder meetings, advocacy efforts, licensing visits, and regional planning sessions.
  • Engage in professional development by attending relevant trade association meetings and other industry-related events.
