Job description

Description

Job Summary:

Protomiq is seeking a Product Owner to partner closely with Engineering, QA, and Product Management to deliver high-quality software solutions that create value for our customers and business. Reporting to a Senior Product Manager, you will serve as the Product Owner for an Agile development Pod and be responsible for backlog management, requirements definition, sprint readiness, stakeholder alignment, and release execution.

You will serve as the primary bridge between business objectives and development execution, ensuring that product priorities are clearly defined, development teams are set up for success, and delivered solutions meet customer and stakeholder expectations.

This role will initially support a development Pod focused on strategic product and platform initiatives. Pod responsibilities may evolve over time based on customer needs, business priorities, and company growth objectives.

Success in this role means maintaining a healthy and prioritized backlog, ensuring sprint commitments are delivered predictably, translating business objectives into actionable development work, and delivering product enhancements that create measurable value for customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backlog Management: Develop, refine, and maintain a prioritized product backlog aligned with customer needs, business objectives, and product strategy. Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to ensure priorities are clearly defined and appropriately sequenced for delivery.
  • Agile Framework Leadership: Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives. Promote adherence to Agile principles and continuously improve team effectiveness, predictability, and delivery outcomes. Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with Product Managers to translate product strategy and roadmap priorities into executable work for the development team. Communicate priorities, requirements, progress, and release plans to internal stakeholders and customers as appropriate. Incorporate stakeholder feedback into product planning and delivery.
  • Sprint Delivery & Execution: Ensure backlog items are refined and sprint-ready. Facilitate delivery by clarifying requirements, resolving blockers, managing dependencies, monitoring sprint progress, and accepting completed work against defined acceptance criteria.
  • Requirements Definition: Translate product strategy and business requirements into well-defined user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria. Ensure requirements are clearly documented and understood by Engineering, QA, and stakeholders while balancing customer needs, business objectives, and technical considerations.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure product features meet quality standards and provide customer value.
  • User Acceptance: Own the planning and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) as part of release management.
  • Release Notes: Own the documentation and distribution of internal product release notes and ensure that they are accurate and complete.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Feedback: Gather and synthesize customer, operational, and stakeholder feedback to help inform prioritization and product enhancements.
  • Product Performance: Monitor feature adoption, customer feedback, and operational performance after release. Partner with Product Managers to evaluate outcomes and identify future improvements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or similar product delivery role.
  • Strong understanding and experience working in an Agile environment.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability in managing product backlogs and task prioritization.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving successful sprint execution within a Scrum-based development environment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset.
