They act as a bridge between product management, engineering, and other departments to streamline workflows, improve communication, and drive operational excellence. Their responsibilities often include optimizing product launch processes, managing cross-functional initiatives, analyzing data to inform decision-making, and scaling best practices across the organization. Senior Product Operations Managers play a key role in ensuring that product teams can focus on innovation while maintaining operational efficiency.

How does a Senior Product Operations Manager typically interact with cross-functional teams, and what collaboration challenges might arise?

As a Senior Product Operations Manager, you will regularly collaborate with product managers, engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to streamline product development and launch processes. One common challenge is aligning diverse teams on priorities and timelines, especially when balancing long-term product strategies with immediate operational needs. TEAM & ROLE
We're looking for a Product Operations Manager to own how product work gets operationalized across the business. You will report directly to our Head of Customer Operations, Aileen Palmer.
This role sits within Operations but is deeply embedded with our technical teams. You'll partner closely with Product and Engineering Managers to understand what's being built, anticipate downstream impact, and ensure every launch is fully supported across internal teams and customers.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can connect technical work to operational impact, and takes ownership of getting launches across the finish line.
WHAT YOU'LL DO AT BENEPASS
As a Product Operations Manager, you will:
Own launch readiness end-to-end
  • Drive launch readiness across all product and engineering workstreams
  • Build and manage project plans, timelines, and milestones, working backward from launch
  • Define readiness criteria and make final go / no-go recommendations
  • Run a weekly launch readiness sync to track progress, surface risks, and drive accountability
  • Identify downstream impact of product launches on Operations workflows, and ensure associated documentation and process updates are made
  • Monitor post-launch feedback, ensuring issues are resolved, and learnings are captured
  • Collaborate closely with our existing Operations Enablement function

Partner closely with Product & Engineering
  • Work directly with Product and Engineering Managers to understand the roadmap and upcoming sprint work
  • Evaluate initiatives for user, administrative, and internal operational impact, including potential effects on support volume
  • Translate technical work into clear operational implications and requirements
  • Ensure operational considerations are incorporated early in planning, not just at launch

Own Ops → Product Roadmap & Prioritization
  • Own a consolidated Ops roadmap across CX, CS, Implementation, and TAM, bringing a single, clear view of priorities
  • Build a structured system to synthesize Ops asks into clearly defined problem statements, and use cases
  • Quantify impact (revenue, retention, efficiency, risk) and help size opportunities to support prioritization (role needs to be analytical, and use Ops data - CX ticket data, Ops costs etc, - to drive clear prioritization)
  • Act as the single threaded owner of Ops → Product alignment, driving clarity on tradeoffs, sequencing, and expected business outcomes

Build for the future
  • Create launch runbooks that will enable scalable go-live plans as the company grows
ABOUT YOU
This role is a strong fit if you:
  • Have experience in Product Operations, Technical Program Management, or similar roles
  • Are comfortable working closely with Product and Engineering teams in a sprint environment
  • Can take ambiguous inputs and turn them into clear plans, timelines, and outcomes
  • Have strong project management and stakeholder management skills
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, especially when navigating tradeoffs or risk
  • Take ownership seriously and follow through on what you own
  • Thrive in a fast-moving, startup environment with high autonomy

We're less focused on specific tools or backgrounds and more interested in how you think, how you operate, and how you drive outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5-8+ years of experience in product operations, project management, technical program management, or a similar cross-functional role
  • Experience working closely with Product and Engineering teams, ideally in a sprint-based development environment
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and dependencies
  • Strong track record of driving initiatives from ambiguity to execution, with clear ownership and follow-through
  • Ability to translate technical product work into operational impact for internal teams and customers
  • Experience building or improving processes, frameworks, or playbooks that scale
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams
Compensation
  • Base salary of $150,000 to $180,000 + equity.

Range(s) is subject to change. Benepass takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including market comparables, interview performance, peer compensation, and years of experience.
What We Offer
  • 95% coverage of medical, dental, and vision
  • Fantastic benefits (of course ), including:
    • $250 WFH setup (one time)
    • $500/year Learning & Development Benefit
    • $150/month cell phone + internet
    • $100/month Wellness
    • $100/month Co-working and Commuter Benefit
  • We offer several team onsites a year
  • Flexible PTO

At Benepass, we are working towards reimagining how companies take care of their people. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all our employees and are seeking to build a team that reflects the diversity of the people we hope to serve with our revolutionary products. Benepass is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
