What is a senior product manager contract?

A Senior Product Manager Contract refers to a temporary or fixed-term position where an experienced product manager is hired to lead product strategy, development, and lifecycle management for a company. Unlike permanent roles, contract positions are typically project-based or for a defined time period, allowing organizations to leverage senior expertise for specific initiatives or to cover parental leave, sabbaticals, or staffing gaps. Senior Product Managers are responsible for setting product vision, aligning teams, gathering user feedback, and driving product success to meet business goals. Their advanced experience enables them to make strategic decisions, mentor junior staff, and deliver impact within a limited timeframe.

What are the typical challenges a senior product manager faces when working on a contract basis?

As a Senior Product Manager on a contract, you may encounter challenges such as quickly acclimating to a new team, learning company processes, and aligning your goals with existing product strategies—all within a limited timeframe. You'll often need to demonstrate value rapidly, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver results without the benefit of long-term rapport. Flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize effectively are essential in navigating these challenges and ensuring a successful contract engagement.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a senior product manager contract, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Senior Product Manager on a contract basis, you need extensive experience in product lifecycle management, market analysis, and a proven ability to drive product strategy, often supported by a relevant degree or MBA. Familiarity with tools like Jira, Aha!, Google Analytics, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is typically required, along with knowledge of product management certifications such as Pragmatic or AIPMM. Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills set top performers apart, especially when aligning cross-functional teams in a temporary role. These capabilities ensure rapid impact, smooth project execution, and successful delivery of products in dynamic, results-oriented contract environments.

Shape the Future of the Frontline Experience. Build Products That Matter.

Securitas is seeking a strategic, customer-obsessed, and results-driven Senior Product Manager to lead the vision, roadmap, and execution of MyConnect, our digital experience platform designed for security officers.

This role will own the strategy and evolution of a product that supports thousands of frontline employees across North America, helping to improve engagement, communication, and the overall employee experience. Working at the intersection of technology, operations, and user experience, this leader will partner closely with Engineering, Design, Operations, Marketing, and executive leadership to deliver measurable business and customer outcomes.

Success in this role will be measured by product adoption, user engagement, employee satisfaction, operational impact, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions that make it easier for our security officers to succeed every day.

What You'll Do

Own Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and execute the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for MyConnect, ensuring alignment with business priorities, employee needs, and Securitas' broader digital transformation objectives.
  • Partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, prioritize investments, and deliver measurable customer and business outcomes.

Drive Customer-Centered Product Development

  • Develop a deep understanding of security officers and frontline operational workflows through customer research, field engagement, analytics, and experimentation to identify opportunities that improve the employee experience.
  • Lead product discovery and decision-making using customer insights and data to deliver intuitive, high-impact solutions that drive adoption and engagement.

Lead Product Execution & Innovation

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Operations, and other business partners to deliver products from concept through launch, define success metrics, and continuously optimize performance.
  • Champion modern product management practices while leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve digital experiences, operational efficiency, and business results.

Who You Are

An ideal candidate brings:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of product management experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using customer research, analytics, and experimentation to inform product decisions.
  • Experience partnering closely with software engineering and UX teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse teams.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools in everyday work and incorporating AI or other emerging technologies into product strategies.

Experience That Sets You Apart

  • Experience building and scaling mobile applications.
  • UX experience, training, or a strong understanding of user-centered design principles.
  • Experience working within startup, consulting, and medium-to-large enterprise environments.
  • Global product management experience.
  • Experience supporting workforce management, field service, operations, logistics, or frontline workforce technology platforms.
  • Experience leading AI-enabled products or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience scaling enterprise software platforms serving large, distributed user populations.

Why Securitas?

At Securitas, we help make the world a safer place. As Senior Product Manager, MyConnect, you'll have the opportunity to shape a digital experience used daily by thousands of security officers, helping improve engagement, communication, and the overall frontline employee experience.

You'll join a global organization committed to innovation, continuous improvement, and empowering its people through technology. Your work will directly influence the future of how Securitas supports and connects its frontline workforce.

If you're passionate about building customer-centric products, leveraging technology to solve real-world challenges, and creating experiences that make a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
