Job description

Sr. Guidewire Product Architect
The Sr Product Architect (ISG) will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing innovative solutions within the Property & Casualty Insurance domain.With focus on Guidewire core applications across PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and related Guidewire InsuranceSuite capabilities. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Guidewire configuration, integration, PCF, Gosu, business rules, workflows, and data models, along with deep understanding of Property & Casualty Insurance processes. The candidate will be expected to work closely with business stakeholders, architects, product owners, and delivery teams to translate business needs into scalable, maintainable, and high-quality Guidewire solutions. This hybrid role requires a strategic thinker with 10+ years of overall IT experience and significant Guidewire implementation, enhancement, upgrade, cloud, or production support experience.
Responsibilities
  • Lead design, development, configuration, and implementation activities across Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and related InsuranceSuite components.
  • Own complex Guidewire configuration and integration workstreams, including PCF changes, Gosu development, rules, workflows, validation logic, batch processes, messaging, plugins, and web services.
  • Provide senior-level technical expertise in Guidewire Center applications to support scalable architecture, maintainability, performance, and alignment with Guidewire recommended practices.
  • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, architects, QA teams, and client stakeholders to analyze requirements, define solution approaches, and convert business needs into technical deliverables.
  • Prepare and maintain technical design documents, configuration specifications, integration designs, data mapping details, and implementation notes for ongoing delivery and future enhancements.
  • Ensure Guidewire development follows coding standards, secure development practices, quality guidelines, and enterprise delivery processes.
  • Conduct code reviews, design reviews, and solution walkthroughs to improve quality, reduce defects, and ensure consistency across the Guidewire delivery team.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level Guidewire developers, provide technical guidance, support estimation, and promote knowledge sharing across configuration and integration tracks.
  • Analyze and resolve complex technical issues across Guidewire applications, integrations, batch jobs, data flows, defects, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, technical estimation, release planning, and implementation readiness activities in Agile or SAFe delivery models.
  • Support Guidewire cloud, upgrade, migration, and modernization initiatives by assessing technical impacts and recommending practical implementation approaches.
  • Coordinate with onsite and offshore teams to ensure timely delivery, clear communication, dependency tracking, and alignment with client expectations.
  • Monitor delivery progress, identify risks and technical dependencies, propose mitigation actions, and provide status updates to project leadership.

Qualifications
  • Possess strong hands-on experience in one or more Guidewire core centers: PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, or BillingCenter, with exposure to Guidewire InsuranceSuite implementation, enhancement, upgrade, or support programs.
  • Demonstrate practical experience in Guidewire configuration and/or integration, including PCF, Gosu, rules, workflows, product model, data model, batch processing, plugins, messaging, APIs, and web services.
  • Have a strong understanding of Property & Casualty Insurance business processes across policy, billing, claims, underwriting, rating, or servicing functions.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex Guidewire issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
  • Exhibit strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working in distributed onsite-offshore and hybrid delivery models.
  • Show proven experience leading technical workstreams, mentoring developers, reviewing deliverables, and supporting successful Guidewire releases.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $ 90,000 - $ 160,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
