Job description

Cigna-Evernorth Services, Inc. seeks an Application Development Senior Advisor in our Bloomfield, CT location to lead end-to-end ETL development using ETI, a legacy ETL tool that generates COBOL code, ensuring accurate and timely data movement across systems.

Responsibilities:

Manage and optimize a large, mission critical financial data warehouse and associated data marts that drive reporting, financial closure, analytics and reconciliation across enterprise.

Translate complex and financial data requirements into reliable, scalable and efficient technical solutions that support core accounting, reporting and compliance functions.

Provide direction and oversight to development teams, both onshore and offshore, ensuring solutions are aligned with financial system goals, timelines and quality standards.

Act as a senior problem solver for production support issues with a focus on performance tuning and resolving system bottlenecks that impact financial processing or reporting deadlines.

Hybrid work schedule.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely related field and 5 years of experience.

Will also accept a Master's degree and 3 years of experience.

Must have experience with: leveraging the ETI tool to auto-generate COBOL code, enabling accelerated development cycles and consistent code quality;

Enterprise mainframe application development with COBOL;

JCL; REXX;

Performance analysis tools including STROBE, XPEDITOR, OMEGAMON, and FILE-AID;

Version control using Endevor; IBM DB2, including advanced performance tuning of complex queries to optimize system responsiveness and ensuring scalability across high-volume financial applications;

Leading cross-functional development teams, providing architectural guidance, code reviews, and quality assurance oversight throughout the Software Development Life Cycle;

Supporting mission-critical production environments, including off-hours incident resolution, to meet month-end and quarter-end Service Life Agreement commitments;

Using productivity and development tools including TOAD, Jira, ESP Scheduler, Microsoft Office Suite, and Visio, to ensure effective collaboration, documentation, and workflow management;

Architectural design and data modeling principles underpinning enterprise-level financial data warehouses and their associated data marts; and,

Enabling efficient data integration, reporting, and analytics across business domains in enterprise-level financial data warehouses and their associated data marts.
