About the Opportunity

A leading commercial real estate organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting for a diverse commercial property portfolio.


This role offers exposure to office, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use assets while partnering closely with finance and operations teams on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and portfolio performance. It's an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build a long-term career within a sophisticated real estate organization.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
  • Review general ledger activity and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and cash management activities.
  • Analyze financial statements, budget variances, and portfolio performance.
  • Assist with cash flow forecasting and annual budgeting.
  • Support year-end audits and preparation of GAAP financial statements.
  • Develop and improve Excel-based reporting and financial analysis tools.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operations teams on ongoing reporting and special projects.
  • Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience within commercial real estate.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • JD Edwards experience is a plus.
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred.
