Job description

Title: Sr R&D Chemist - Rubber Chemical Compounds.

Location: Gaffney, South Carolina.

Package: $100,000-$140,000 Base Salary, 6% bonus & additional benefits.



Company Overview

Irving Knight are partnered with a global multimillion dollar precision-engineered rubber, elastomeric, metal, and textile-based component chemical manufacturer. The role will lead the R&D team for formulation and working directly with customers for end to end laboratory customisation.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Formulate and develop rubber compounds for new and existing products.
  • Conduct laboratory testing, including physical, mechanical, and chemical analysis of rubber material
  • Maintain accurate documentation of formulations, test results, and project progress
  • Troubleshoot material and processing issues in collaboration with production teams
  • Evaluate raw materials, additives, and reinforcing fillers to enhance compound performance.


Qualifications

Experience: Hands‑on experience in rubber compounding, elastomers, or polymer chemistry
