Position Summary

This position is a full-time on-site position in Fullerton, CA. WE DO NOT OFFER RELOCATION.

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing quality inspections, laboratory testing, and production data collection to ensure manufactured materials consistently meet Verde Bioresins' quality and ISO 9001:2015 standards and customer specifications. This position works closely with Production, Engineering, and Logistics to verify product quality throughout the manufacturing process by collecting samples, conducting laboratory analyses, maintaining accurate quality records, and communicating any quality concerns to the Sr. Process Engineer.

The Quality Control Technician plays a critical role in ensuring consistent product quality by monitoring materials produced from compounding operations and supporting the release of finished products for shipment.


Key Responsibilities


Production Quality Control

·       Collect production samples from extrusion and compounding operations according to established sampling plans.

·       Operate the injection molding machines to produce test specimens for engineering testing.

·       Validate incoming raw material test specification conformance.

·       Perform in-process and finished product inspections to verify compliance with material specifications.

·       Monitor product consistency throughout production and identify potential quality concerns.

·       Notify the Sr. Process Engineer and Production personnel of any out-of-specification conditions.

·       Assist with product disposition and segregation of nonconforming materials.


Laboratory Testing

·       Perform routine laboratory testing on production materials, including:

o   Injection Molder

o   Melt Flow Indexer

o   Density

o   Moisture Content

o   Universal Testing (flexural and tensile testing)

o   Izod Impact Testing

o   Hardness Testing

o   FTIR

o   Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)

o   Other laboratory analyses as required

·       Verify testing equipment is functioning properly and report any calibration or maintenance needs.

·       Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.


Qualifications


Required

·       Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related technical field, or equivalent manufacturing/laboratory experience.

·       1–3 years of experience in quality control, laboratory testing, or plastics processing.

·       Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

·       Ability to accurately collect, document, and interpret quality data.

·       Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and data entry.

·       Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Preferred

·       Experience working in plastics, polymers, extrusion, or compounding.

·       Experience performing physical testing of thermoplastic materials.

·       Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment used in polymer manufacturing.

·       Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
