As a Senior Physical Security Consultant, your role involves providing strategic advice and solutions to clients. You'll analyze data, develop insights, and recommend solutions to enhance physical security.

Working in teams of 3 to 5 consultants, designers and engineers, you'll identify and implement potential solutions for client-specific security challenges. Throughout each project, you'll gather information, test hypotheses, and communicate recommendations. Occasional travel to client sites will be required.

Success in this role requires uncommonly strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. You will lead or support projects for critical infrastructure clients such as government, military, aviation, and utilities. This position will require a well-rounded physical security background. This is a mid to senior level position with long term growth potential. This job does not directly manage others but will be responsible for managing projects and motivating team members for overall project team success.

Job Duties

1) Consulting:

  • Apply strong analytical skills, develop actionable recommendations, and create compelling presentations.
  • Author detailed reports and technical memos.
  • Communicate clear risk assessments and effective recommendations.
  • Interact with diverse clients, including government agencies and commercial entities.
  • Lead client engagements, from problem definition to solution implementation.
  • Mentor junior consultants.

2) Physical Security:

  • Conduct physical security threat and vulnerability assessments.
  • Analyze client assets and assess impact of potential loss.
  • Collaborate on security standards, specifications, and master plans.
  • Support a wide range of security and risk management projects, including maturity assessments, gap analyses, program design, and physical security reviews.
  • Stay current with technical subject matters, regulations, and emerging security issues.
  • Maintain technical proficiency and share knowledge within the firm.

3) Project Management:

  • Support or lead project teams, including junior consultants, to ensure successful project completion.
  • Manage multiple projects from start to finish in a fast-paced, fluid work environment.
  • Evaluate project success and meet deadlines.

4) Business Development:

  • Prioritize a positive customer experience during assessments and service interactions.
  • Cultivate and manage client relationships.
  • Identify new opportunities and build relationships with potential clients.
  • Collaborate on business development efforts.
  • Contribute to proposal content, pricing strategies, timelines and sales presentations.

  • 7 years of physical security consulting experience or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive project deliverables including reports, assessments.

  • Ability to work in commercial and industrial settings and follow strict safety protocols

  • Fluent written and verbal English communication skills

  • Ability to pass multiple detailed background checks (including criminal history) and drug screening

  • Current driver's license and ability to travel by air, bus, train, etc.

  • Proficiency with standard MS Office tools, laptop computers, and/or related tools

  • The ability to occasionally walk and/or stand for extended periods of time, often in outdoor environments

  • Basic business acumen and the ability to understand and support client relationships

  • Strong knowledge of physical security policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Ability to travel 25% to 50%.

  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbal and written technical information.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in security, business, engineering or related field from an accredited program.

  • Master's degree in security, business, engineering or related field from an accredited program.

  • Security management experience in critical infrastructure such as utilities.

  • Certification as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) via ASIS International or obtained within 12 months of employment.

  • ICA CPTED Certification

  • Physical office location preferably in Kansas City, Missouri
