Role Specific Introduction:
The Senior Physical Security Consultant is a subject matter expert responsible for advising clients on the design, implementation, and optimization of physical security strategies, systems, and programs. This role combines technical expertise with strategic consulting, ensuring that client facilities, assets, and people are protected through best-in-class physical security solutions. The consultant will lead assessments, develop security master plans, oversee system design and implementation, and serve as a trusted advisor to executives and project stakeholders.
Experience:
  • 8–12+ years of consulting or applied security experience, with demonstrated success on large and complex security projects.
  • Deep knowledge of physical security principles, risk management, and resilience frameworks.
  • Experience with security system design, integration, and technology platforms.
  • Familiarity with architectural, engineering, and construction processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership and client relationship management skills.
Responsibilities:
Security Strategy amp; Consulting
  • Conduct comprehensive physical security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses.
  • Develop enterprise-level security master plans, standards, and guidelines.
  • Advise clients on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.
  • Provide recommendations to improve resilience, deterrence, and incident response capabilities.
System Design amp; Technology Integration
  • Lead the design and specification of security technologies, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, perimeter systems, visitor management, and security operations centers.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational needs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and IT teams to integrate security into building and infrastructure designs.
Project amp; Program Management
  • Manage multiple client engagements from initiation through delivery.
  • Develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Oversee vendor selection, procurement, and implementation support.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, NFPA, UL, CPTED).
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as the primary client interface, building trusted relationships with executives, facility managers, and security leaders.
  • Lead workshops, briefings, and training sessions for client stakeholders
  • Support change management and organizational adoption of new security practices.
Business Development amp; Leadership
  • Support proposal development, client presentations, and RFP responses.

  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team development.

Education and Professional Certifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Certifications: CPP (ASIS Certified Protection Professional), PSP (Physical Security Professional), CPTED, or equivalent strongly preferred.

Compensation:
  • $140,000-$180,000 – depending on experience, education amp; certifications, and location
