  • The Senior Photographer in the Photo Department is responsible for creating unique photo memories at sea, in alignment with the company's brand strategy and commitment to excellent customer service. 
  • The Senior Photographer is responsible for ensuring financial performance is met, which involves consistently achieving budgeted sales, image count, and sell-through targets for each voyage. Additionally, they are expected to explain products to passengers and use effective sales techniques. The senior photographer is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, creating a positive first impression for every passenger. They engage with passengers, observe their preferences, and make adjustments to the service as needed.
  • The Senior Photographer is responsible for executing marketing strategies, events, visual directives, and price changes in accordance with the relevant signage and advertising. They have a thorough understanding of the Princess product range and photo-video operations, ensure merchandise is restocked daily, and produce images that are correctly exposed, focused, and printed. They promptly communicate any issues regarding product quality or stock levels to the management team.
  • The Senior Photographer also participates in training and staff meetings, demonstrating leadership to the Photo-Video team, and participating in required Princess U courses. They ensure image count targets and quality are achieved at every photographic event, perform all Photo-Video inventories, organise and maintain secure stockrooms, lockers, and storage areas, take accountability for protecting issued equipment and Company assets, resolve technical issues, and demonstrate accurate knowledge of Photo Lab opening and closing procedures.
  • In accordance with operational requirements, the Senior Photographer may also be tasked with the role of Master Photographer (Premium Studio Photographer). This position entails responsibility for the PhotoStudio programme, a premium by-appointment photography programme on Princess Cruises luxury vessels. Their duties include portrait photography, conducting viewing and sales sessions, and selling photo images and packages. They work with the photo team to drive bookings and manage session scheduling. They use post-production software to enhance images and maintain a clean, well-organised studio. They also work with the on-board photo manager to achieve budgeted sales targets.
  • Minimum two to three years of experience in studio photography. 
  • Experience as a cruise ship photographer preferred. 
  • Bachelor's degree in photography or equivalent (Preferred). 
  • Prior experience working regularly with the following equipment: 
  1.  Lighting equipment (strobes, soft boxes, umbrellas, flash attachments) 
  2.  Camera equipment (digital cameras, tripods, lenses) 
  3.  Photography equipment (backdrops, props) 
  4.  Postproduction software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom etc.) 
  • Solid interpersonal skills to make subjects feel relaxed and interact with people of all ages and walks of life, including young children. 
  • Solid communication skills to relay clear, easy-to-understand instructions to subjects being photographed. 
  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written. (Required & Critical) 
  • Outstanding social skills and the ability to deliver outstanding service to our guests with a friendly and professional demeanor 
  • Motivation to excel in all aspects of job duties and responsibilities. 
  • Commitment to establish and maintain courteous and professional working relationships in a diverse cultural environment. 
  • Candidates will be required to provide their portfolio. 
  • Must be prepared to live and work on a cruise vessel for 6-month contracts.
