Job description

About Us

  • The MaxGroup Search, Inc is an executive engineering search firm specializing in Senior- and C‑level placements within the Civil, Environmental, Renewable and Clean Energy sectors. The firm draws on a multi-decade legacy originating from Bruno Max Partners, GmbH and related regional practices in Europe and North America, and is led by experienced senior recruiters with deep industry networks.
  • We serve a global client base that includes large engineering, environmental and EPCM firms, and work with consulting organizations, private companies and energy-sector start‑ups on strategic senior hires.

Role Overview

  • The Senior Partner will lead business development, client engagements and delivery for executive search mandates across the firm’s core sectors. This role combines high‑level client relationship management, candidate sourcing and assessment, team leadership and contribution to firm strategy and market positioning.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with senior executives and hiring authorities at client organizations to originate and win executive search mandates.
  • Lead full life‑cycle executive searches for Senior Technical and C‑Suite positions, including intake, role definition, market mapping, candidate identification, assessment, interview management and offer negotiation.
  • Build and maintain a high‑quality pipeline of passive senior candidates within Civil, Environmental and Renewable / Clean Energy engineering sectors.
  • Provide market intelligence and advice to clients on organizational structures, compensation benchmarking and executive talent availability.
  • Manage and mentor junior consultants and researchers; oversee search project budgets, timelines and delivery quality.
  • Collaborate on firm business strategy, brand development, thought leadership and process improvements to enhance search effectiveness and client satisfaction.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and conferences and expand the firm’s professional network and referral sources.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in executive search, recruiting or senior client‑facing roles with demonstrable success placing Senior Technical and/or C‑level candidates.
  • Established network and proven track record in Civil, Environmental, Renewable Energy, Clean Tech or related engineering markets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience winning mandates, managing P&L for search engagements and delivering on revenue targets.
  • Proven ability to source, evaluate and present senior‑level candidates using market mapping, direct sourcing and network outreach techniques.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with a professional presence appropriate for C‑suite and board‑level interactions.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring junior staff and managing multi‑disciplinary search teams.
  • Willingness to travel periodically for client meetings and industry events; ability to work across multiple time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with engineering, environmental consulting, EPC/EPCM firms or renewable energy developers.
  • Existing relationships with senior technical and operational leaders in target sectors and regions.
  • Familiarity with compensation benchmarking, executive assessment tools and contemporary recruitment technologies and CRM systems.
  • Advanced degree or professional credentials in business, engineering, human resources or a related discipline is a plus.

Benefits and Working Conditions

  • Competitive compensation structure with performance‑based incentives.
  • Flexible work arrangement with remote work options and periodic travel for client engagement.
  • Opportunities for professional development, industry engagement and leadership within a focused, senior‑level executive search practice.
  • Collaborative, small‑team environment with direct access to senior leadership and strategic decision‑making.
