Edenbrook Pine Haven, part of the Eden Senior Care Network, is seeking an amazing Maintenance Assistant!

Position: Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift or area.
  • Assist the Maintenance Supervisor in setting maintenance standards.
  • Assist in developing procedures for performing daily maintenance tasks.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services when performing maintenance assignments in resident living and/or recreational areas.
  • Perform administrative requirements (i.e., completing necessary forms, reports, etc.) and submit them to the Maintenance Supervisor as necessary.
  • Submit accidents/incident reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on the shift in which they occur.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and other team members to ensure the completion of assigned tasks and projects within designated timelines.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for both staff and residents.
  • Assist in training and supervising new maintenance staff as required.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with residents, staff, and management to address maintenance-related concerns or requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Support the overall cleanliness and appearance of the community through regular inspections and maintenance of common areas and resident living spaces.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Maintenance experience in senior living is preferred but not required
  • Experience and skill in painting.
  • Experience with light repairs and general maintenance is required.
  • Good telephone skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to adequately perform the physical requirements of the position, which may include lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating maintenance equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A caring, team-player attitude with a customer service-focused personality.
  • Knowledge of healthcare maintenance standards, regulations, and procedures is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management systems or software is desirable.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education is required. Technical or vocational training in maintenance-related fields is a plus.
