Operations Senior Manager

Trees Atlanta is a nationally recognized non-profit community group that protects and improves Atlanta's urban forest by planting, conserving, and educating. The Operations Senior Manager is a collaborative role that works alongside program management to ensure smooth operations and effective stewardship of assets.
The Operations Senior Manager will oversee the following:
  • Fleet Management
    • Ensure registration, emissions, and GADOT requirements are up to date for all vehicles
    • Implement and monitor telematics software
    • Evaluate and monitor the safe and efficient use all fleet vehicles, trailers, and other related equipment
    • Diagnose, schedule, and ensure completion of routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs
    • Manage key schedule for all vehicles and trailers
    • Triage repairs, breakdowns, and tows as needed in collaboration with program supervisors
    • Oversee the acquisition and decommission of fleet vehicles
  • Tools, Equipment, and Inventory Management
    • Oversee water meter acquisitions, proper usage, distribution, and bill payment processes
    • Oversee small engine maintenance and basic repairs
    • Oversee weekly tool inventory and rentals
    • Ensure materials and supplies are well stocked, organized, and available
    • Oversee the maintenance of a well organized, clean, and safe operational space
    • Keep a balanced budget and manage program spending
  • Groundskeeping and Facilities Maintenance
    • Oversee the care, planting, and maintenance of the landscaped grounds
    • Work with vendors/contractors to maintain and repair facilities
  • Training and Safety Compliance
    • Facilitate driver training classes for all staff ensuring appropriate and safe use of all fleet vehicles and related equipment
    • Facilitate various tool and small engine equipment training classes for all staff
    • Be the go-to person for troubleshooting equipment

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 - 4 years relevant work experience
  • Valid Georgia Driver's License with 3-year clean history
  • GA Pesticide Applicator's License, or obtain within 3 months of hire
  • CPR/First Aid certified, or obtain within 3 months of hire
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that requires repetitive bending, lifting, and shoveling
  • Ability to work some Saturdays a few times a year/as needed
  • Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Fleet management experience including basic maintenance and diagnostics abilities
  • OSHA 10 Certification, or obtain within 3 months
  • Skid steer certification
  • Small engine equipment repair certification
