Senior Network Administrator

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Job Description

Seeking a Senior Network Administrator to lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise network infrastructure across data centers and remote locations. This is a senior-level engineering role requiring deep expertise in Cisco, Palo Alto, and Cradlepoint technologies, with responsibility for architecture, troubleshooting, and Tier-3 escalation support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and deployment of enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, remote sites, and hybrid environments.

  • Architect secure and scalable network solutions using Cisco, Palo Alto, and Cradlepoint platforms.

  • Troubleshoot complex multi-layer network issues; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

  • Manage and optimize VPN, IPsec, SD-WAN, remote access, and WAN failover solutions.

  • Perform configuration reviews, audits, and performance optimization using network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, SNMP, Wireshark).

  • Support high-availability data center networking, including virtualization, interconnects, and redundancy.

  • Coordinate with carriers and vendors for provisioning fiber/Ethernet services and managing SLAs.

  • Validate and test network hardware/software for upgrades, deployments, and security enhancements.

  • Develop scripts or automation tools for monitoring, configuration, and reporting.

  • Participate in structured change management processes and compliance activities.

  • Provide Tier-3 support and mentor junior team members.

  • Document network designs, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Communicate technical issues and project updates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.


Required Technical Expertise
  • Advanced knowledge of network architecture, design principles, routing, and hybrid environments.

  • Strong hands-on experience with Cisco and Palo Alto (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, IPsec, NAT, DNS, DHCP, Panorama, GlobalProtect, SSL Decryption, Threat Prevention).

  • Experience with Cradlepoint/cellular networking (LTE/5G, WAN failover).

  • Familiar with NAC, load balancing (F5, Azure App Gateway), and SD-WAN solutions.

  • Understanding of voice/UC protocols: UDP, RTP, RTCP, QoS.

  • Knowledge of fiber/carrier Ethernet services and vendor coordination.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills using CLI, Linux, and/or PowerShell.

  • Experience with distributed computing environments and network security.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and

  • 4+ years of professional network administration experience in a large enterprise environment.

OR

  • 8+ years of combined education, training, and hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network systems.
