Job description

Job Title:
Senior Model Risk Manager

What you'll do:
As a Senior Model Risk Manager you'll provide effective governance, oversight, and controls in accordance with model risk governance and risk reporting responsibilities. You'll develop, implement, and maintain a robust model risk management framework, ensuring it aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. You'll oversee and conduct model validation activities, including assessing model accuracy, stability, and suitability for intended use. You'll establish and maintain model governance policies and procedures as well as communicate model risk information to stakeholders, including senior management, business units, and regulators.
  • Analyze model data, identify trends, and interpret results to inform risk management decisions.
  • Work collaboratively with model developers, business users, and other stakeholders to ensure effective model risk management.
  • Prepare model risk information reports and any other ad-hoc reports as required and develop risk management controls and procedures.
  • Employ techniques and practices that will identify, measure and mitigate model risks.
  • Lead and develop a team; responsible for hiring, coaching, performance management, training and development.

What you'll need:
  • 8+ years of related experience in Finance (GL Mgmt., Public Reporting, Analysis) or similar field.
  • Masters or MBA in related field required; PhD in related field preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of formal methodologies and disciplines for credit risk modeling at a financial institution regulated by the OCC or Federal Reserve.
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of stress testing concepts and related regulatory guidance (such as the Fed Letter SR11-7).
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
  • Occasional travel required.
