Senior Microsoft Cloud Engineer
Clearance: Public Trust Tier 2
Location: On-site at Ford House Office Building, Washington, DC, and Equinix DC4, Ashburn, VA
Position Summary
Nationwide IT Services is seeking a Senior Microsoft Cloud Engineer to provide advanced engineering, operations, and advisory support for CBO’s Microsoft cloud environment, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and Microsoft Security platforms. This key role will help ensure a resilient, scalable, and secure cloud environment aligned with NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-207, and FedRAMP Moderate requirements.
Required Experience
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of senior-level experience and be able to work with minimal supervision in the following areas:
  • Designing, implementing, operating, and optimizing Microsoft 365, Azure, and Microsoft Security solutions at enterprise scale
  • Supporting hybrid Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Entra ID environments aligned to Microsoft’s tiered security model
  • Managing Intune and Windows Autopilot for Windows, macOS, and iOS across 700+ endpoints
  • Implementing identity and access solutions, including Entra ID, Conditional Access, privileged access management, least privilege, MFA transitions, Smart Card, and FIDO authentication
  • Securing remote PowerShell and Microsoft Graph administrative access while preserving required automation
  • Configuring Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Purview, including Sentinel data-source health reporting and ingest-quality alerting
  • Building Power BI dashboards for system health, compliance, spend forecasting, utilization, and Azure budget alerting
  • Developing incident-response and disaster-response playbooks integrated with CBO IR and COOP documentation
  • Supporting Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint Online
Required Certifications
The selected candidate must currently hold and maintain all of the following Microsoft certifications:
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Administrator Associate

Work Samples
