Job description

Position Summary: Collaborates with IT and data stewards to support Gila River Health Care quality improvement functions by leading and ensuring accuracy in the development of new measures, indicators, and improvement programs across a variety of data sources.
Critical Tasks:
  • Supports the integration, coordination, and integrity of data being reported from multiple systems.
  • Creates ad-hoc reports and provides support in analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Works collaboratively with IT in establishing and maintaining data warehousing and analytics development.
  • Suggests and implements automation of business processes such as on demand reports and interactive dashboards.
  • Oversees external data submissions.
  • Provides technical/coding guidance to other staff.
  • Provides support for activities related to regulatory requirements and accreditation.
  • Reviews and audits work activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
  • Performs other job related activities as requested.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in health information management, health information technology, healthcare administration, informatics, analytics, or a closely related field is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare data analytics.
  • At least one professional certification in healthcare data or coding ((American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), American Association of Professional Coders (AACP), American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), etc.)) within one year of employment.
