Job Description Senior Legal Assistant - Litigation Contract Length: 12 Months Location: Houston, TX 77002 Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM CT Work Arrangement: Hybrid - Monday through Thursday onsite; Friday remote Contract Type: Contract Position Summary We are seeking a Senior Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys supporting a busy legal team. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable managing competing priorities with sound judgment and professionalism. This role requires handling confidential information with discretion while building positive and professional relationships with attorneys, clients, and internal staff.

Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational skills, initiative, and attention to detail are essential for success in this fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare recurring reports and presentations using Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word to summarize and present data clearly. Coordinate domestic and international travel logistics, including visa requirements, immunizations, photographs, passport renewals, detailed itineraries, and travel updates.

Track and gather expenses and prepare complex expense reports using expense reporting systems. Perform high-volume data entry and maintain matter information, including opening and closing matters. Draft, format, edit, and revise legal documents under strict deadlines.

Use Microsoft Word Track Changes to edit and revise documents. Assist attorneys with correspondence, presentations, and routine reports. Coordinate meeting, conference, and special-event logistics, including agendas and presentation materials.

Process e-billing, invoices, payments, and vendor setup using legal operations and financial systems. Upload, review, organize, and research documents using document management systems. Track deadlines and proactively follow up with individuals to ensure commitments are completed.

Research inquiries and assist attorneys and leadership with administrative responsibilities. Serve as a resource for commonly used systems and tools. Coordinate basic software or hardware support needs as necessary.

Provide backup coverage and support to other legal assistants. Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 5+ years of legal administrative experience.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including: Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook Teams Forms Ability to quickly learn new software and business systems. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Demonstrated initiative, independence, and ability to anticipate needs.

Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines while remaining calm under pressure.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment. Growth mindset and willingness to contribute ideas and perspectives professionally. Ability to give, receive, and act on feedback constructively.

Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting litigation attorneys or legal operations teams. Experience with TeamConnect. Experience with iManage.

Experience with Power BI. Experience with Concur or similar expense-management systems. Experience using Microsoft Copilot or similar AI tools, including effective prompting.

Associate degree. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an experienced legal administrative professional with strong litigation support experience who can independently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. The candidate should be comfortable working with attorneys, coordinating complex schedules and travel, preparing legal documents and presentations, managing matter information, and navigating legal operations and document management systems.

Strong Microsoft Office, legal operations, litigation support, and organizational skills are especially important. No business travel is required.
