We are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect / Designer to join our boutique design studio. This leadership role is essential in guiding project teams through all phases of the design process, ensuring high-quality results that align with our company's vision.
Position Overview
As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will take ownership of assigned projects, leading teams through concept development, design refinement, and execution. You will work closely with the design studio team, collaborating with peers and supporting Principal Landscape Architects to ensure the success of each project. This role requires a balance of creative vision, technical expertise, and leadership skills to oversee complex landscape projects from inception to completion.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership & Design Process
  • Lead a team through all design phases, from conceptual development to construction documentation and implementation.
  • Ensure that design solutions align with client goals, site conditions, budget considerations, and sustainability principles.
  • Conduct site analysis, feasibility studies, and client presentations.
  • Develop innovative, high-quality landscape solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency and quality.

Collaboration & Coordination
  • Work closely with Principal Landscape Architects to maintain design integrity and project alignment.
  • Collaborate with internal design teams, architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate landscape solutions into broader project frameworks.
  • Communicate design intent effectively to stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and construction teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and client presentations to refine project direction.

Technical & Documentation Responsibilities
  • Prepare high-quality drawings, plans, and renderings using CAD, 3D modeling, and other design software.
  • Develop construction documentation, specifications, and material selections to guide project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with zoning laws, permitting requirements, and industry regulations.
  • Conduct site visits to oversee design implementation and resolve field challenges.

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect (or actively pursuing licensure).
  • 5+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture, with demonstrated leadership on projects.
  • Strong design sensibility, creative problem-solving skills, and technical knowledge of materials, grading, and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, Rhino, or similar design tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high design standards.
