We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. Please review the job description below.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the direction of the Controller, this role is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost accounting, and financial planning & analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, standard costing, inventory accounting, and financial analysis, while partnering with operations leadership to drive informed business decisions and improve financial performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Lead monthend and yearend close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze annual operating budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
  • Partner with department managers to monitor spending, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis to support strategic planning, capital investments, and operational initiatives.
  • Maintain and analyze standard costs, including labor, overhead, and material costs.
  • Conduct cost rollups and support annual standard cost updates.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, including purchase price, production, labor, overhead, and inventory variances.
  • Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate inventory valuation in accordance with GAAP.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
  • Prepare management reports, dashboards, and KPI analysis to support business performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Production, and Leadership teams.
  • EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with ERP systems. PLEX is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
