Summary

The Injection Molding Technician 3 is a senior-level technical role responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving injection molding equipment and processes in a regulated manufacturing environment. This position supports equipment reliability, process consistency, technician training, documentation accuracy, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across R&D Pilot Injection Molding operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain injection molding machines and support equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and consistent production performance.
  • Perform equipment adjustments, repairs, process troubleshooting, and emergency response activities to minimize downtime and resolve production issues.
  • Support process optimization, equipment reliability improvements, test protocols, production start-ups, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train, certify, and coach technicians on injection molding equipment operation, troubleshooting, maintenance practices, and standard procedures.
  • Create, review, and maintain technical documentation, including operating procedures, maintenance procedures, calibration instructions, drawings, manuals, and training materials.
  • Use process data, technical observations, and root-cause analysis to reduce variability, improve repeatability, and strengthen equipment performance.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, environmental, safety, and site procedures while promoting a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification, qualification, or related technical training preferred.

Experience

Four to six years of injection molding maintenance, process, or engineering experience required. Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred. Experience in a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred.

Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of injection molding equipment and process improvement required. PLC systems, electro-mechanical troubleshooting, robotic and servo systems, safety systems, equipment installation, qualification, production start-up, and process development preferred.

Professional Skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, prioritize work, manage multiple tasks, organize technical information, support team-based execution is required. Training others in equipment operation and troubleshooting is preferred.

Physical and Work Requirements

Ability to work in an indoor manufacturing environment and perform required physical activities, including standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, crouching, visual inspection, and light lifting up to 23 pounds is required.
