Job description

Plastinove is seeking an experienced, hands-on Injection Molding Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of our injection molding equipment, troubleshooting process and equipment issues, performing machine and mold setups, and helping ensure consistent production quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and technical skills, understands injection molding processes, and is comfortable working directly with machinery to diagnose problems and keep production running.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot injection molding machines.
  • Perform machine startups, shutdowns, mold changes, and production changeovers.
  • Set and adjust machine parameters to maintain consistent product quality and production efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects, process issues, equipment alarms, and production interruptions.
  • Monitor cycle times, temperatures, pressures, and other key process parameters.
  • Identify root causes of production and quality issues and assist with corrective actions.
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs and adjustments to injection molding equipment and auxiliary equipment.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance on machines, molds, dryers, compressors, material handling systems, and related equipment.
  • Inspect molded products and identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Monitor equipment performance and take action to minimize machine downtime.
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and management to resolve technical issues.
  • Maintain accurate production, process, maintenance, and quality records.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to machine performance, cycle time, quality, and production efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Previous hands-on experience with injection molding equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of injection molding processes and machine operation.
  • Experience troubleshooting injection molding machines, molds, and process-related issues.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Experience with machine setups, mold changes, and process adjustments.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and industrial equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond quickly to production issues.
  • Strong attention to quality, safety, and production efficiency.
  • Dependable, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
