Overview
JOB TITLE: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
GOVERNMENT AGENCY: DOJ EOIR
POSITION INFORMATION: Full-time
LOCATION: Falls Church, VA; Hybrid (3 days onsite/2 days telework); Initial 30 days are fully onsite for training
POSITION TIMING: Position requires candidate to obtain a DOJ Public Trust clearance which can take 4-6 weeks to process and must be complete prior to starting employment

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage and monitor physical on premise storage and compute infrastructure ensuring that hardware and software is compliant with company standards and optimize enterprise-wide storage platforms to ensure availability and capacity to meet business needs.
  • Design and manage systems in multi-datacenter environments, including HA/DR design.
  • Build, configure and administer Azure IaaS, PaaS and SaaS resources with high availability, fault tolerance, scalability for development and production environments
  • Ensure Azure resources meets security guidelines by DISA STIGS as well as recommendations from Azure Security Center (ASC) for compliance.

Qualifications
REQUIRED:
  • 8+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator/Engineer role and able to provide engineering and operational support
  • 5+ years of experience of Active Directory Services.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Active Directory Services with experience creating, configuring, and implementing Group Policy Objects, AD Users and Computers, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, Certificate Authority.
  • Experience designing, deploying and managing Windows 2016 - 2022 Server technologies, in Cloud (Azure/AWS), Nutanix and physical hardware.
  • Windows Clustering experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and significant experience providing in-person technical briefings for executive audiences.
  • Experience creating and updating SOPs and comprehensive technical documentation for all systems listed above.
  • Excellent time management and task management abilities, must be able to plan and execute complex interdependent activities across both IT systems and people-based processes.
  • System architecture, design, maintenance, upgrade and implementation projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to multi-task on operational issues in a group environment.
  • Ability to obtain a DOJ Public Trust clearance (must be obtained prior to start date).
  • Experience designing, deploying and managing Windows server technologies, in Cloud (Azure/AWS), Nutanix and physical hardware.
  • Nice to have - 4+ years of hands on experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS and edge to edge cloud computing.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Willingness to work in Microsoft Azure Government.
  • PowerShell Scripting/automation of administrative tasks.
  • Work within major team initiatives and identify automation opportunities across Active Directory Domain Services, Cloud (Azure) Nutanix, Backups and Monitoring.
  • Experience deploying and managing Windows Server clustering capabilities, SQL always-on.
  • Creation of PowerShell scripts and ARM templates that automate manual tasks.
  • Automation of tasks that outputs reports, data and sends notifications via text and email.
  • Proven record of identifying and implementing efficiencies in support of the customer.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator and/or Solutions Architect Expert Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Candidate must be able to function in general office environment
  • The person in this position must have the ability to lift and move IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
