Job description

Azure Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Fort Belvoir, VA / Northern Virginia (fully on-site)

Make an Impact Where It Matters Most

Blue Rose Consulting Group, Inc. (Blue Rose) is seeking a highly skilled Azure Infrastructure Engineer to support a federal client in deploying and sustaining secure, enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure supporting a mission-critical task management platform.

This role is focused on infrastructure engineering, enterprise authentication, networking, and backend Azure architecture โ€” not day-to-day application administration or help desk support. We are seeking an engineer with strong hands-on experience designing and troubleshooting secure Azure environments, configuring authentication services, supporting complex network and firewall requirements, and leading technical deployments across federal environments.

In this role, you will help install and configure enterprise software packages, assess infrastructure readiness, troubleshoot connectivity and security issues, and ensure successful deployment and operation within highly secure government networks.

What Youโ€™ll Do

As an Azure Infrastructure Engineer, you will:

  • Lead installation, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting activities for enterprise solutions hosted within Azure environments
  • Design and support secure Azure infrastructure architecture, including networking, authentication, and connectivity components
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure diagrams, deployment documentation, and technical architecture documentation
  • Configure and troubleshoot enterprise authentication solutions including Active Directory, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Entra ID, and CAC-enabled authentication
  • Analyze and resolve infrastructure-related issues involving firewalls, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, network routing, and secure connectivity
  • Support backend Azure infrastructure environments rather than day-to-day application administration
  • Evaluate client infrastructure readiness and identify required network, security, and configuration changes for successful deployments
  • Collaborate with client infrastructure, cybersecurity, and networking teams to resolve deployment blockers and operational challenges
  • Support Azure-based environments involving SQL Server, SharePoint, Office 365, Power Platform, and hybrid cloud technologies
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and integration issues across cloud and on-premises enterprise environments
  • Utilize PowerShell automation to streamline deployment, administration, and operational support activities
  • Support migration and integration efforts between on-premises systems and Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for infrastructure, authentication, and connectivity-related issues
  • Assess the operational and technical impact of infrastructure architecture decisions
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance during deployments and enterprise modernization efforts
  • Communicate infrastructure requirements, deployment expectations, and technical recommendations to stakeholders and engineering teams
Schedule & Shift Details
  • Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Fully on-site support at Fort Belvoir and other Northern Virginia locations
  • Support required during standard business hours with occasional after-hours support as needed
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret clearance required
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Azure infrastructure engineering and enterprise cloud environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Active Directory and enterprise authentication architecture
    • Azure networking and infrastructure configuration
    • Firewall, connectivity, and network troubleshooting
    • Infrastructure architecture and deployment planning
    • SQL Server administration and backend connectivity
    • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and troubleshooting:
    • CAC-enabled authentication
    • Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
    • Entra ID / Azure AD
    • Hybrid cloud infrastructure environments
  • Experience creating and interpreting network diagrams and infrastructure documentation
  • Experience supporting secure federal or DoD enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, VPNs, load balancing, and firewall rules
  • Experience troubleshooting complex deployment and connectivity issues across distributed enterprise systems
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work directly with infrastructure, security, and engineering stakeholders in high-security environments
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or related certifications
  • Experience with Power Platform, Dynamics, SharePoint, and Office 365 integrations
  • Experience supporting enterprise software deployments within federal or DoD environments
  • Experience with SQL Server backend infrastructure and .NET application environments
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and infrastructure management tools
Why Join Blue Rose?
  • Support secure, mission-critical federal operations
  • Work on large-scale Azure infrastructure modernization efforts
  • Help deploy and sustain enterprise cloud solutions across highly secure environments
