Sr. Systems Administrator


The Sr. Systems Administrator will be responsible for monitoring and supporting all components of desktop technology

Schedule: Regular business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday

DAY TO DAY

  • Responsible for monitoring and supporting all components of desktop technology
  • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the hardware and the OS of all Windows-based workstations and servers
  • Responsible for Infrastructure Support Tickets and as an escalation resource for the Help Desk Analysts
  • Creates, maintains, and makes ongoing revisions to desktop-related processes, procedures, and documentation on software and hardware deployments, account administration, and helpdesk tasks
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive set of Windows workstation and laptop images as well as thin client images to be used throughout all sites
  • Develops and maintains scripts and utilizes desktop management solutions to create a more efficient environment
  • Deploys, administers, and performance tunes workstation group policies related to system hardening procedures and policies
  • Evaluates and recommends technologies that can improve and streamline existing processes
  • Troubleshoots and provides solutions to hardware and software problems
  • Installs, upgrades, repairs, and removes hardware and software as necessary
  • Provides training and mentorship for desktop technicians on technologies of multiple disciplines
  • Manages VDI images, testing and rollout of new images and application related upgrades or updates
  • Acts as project lead in large-scale enterprise-wide hardware and software rollout/migration projects. Plans the analysis, evaluation, testing, implementation, integration, and migration strategy for deployment. Defines and implements complicated technical solutions that satisfy business requirements and align with corporate, project, and budgetary objectives
  • Leads large, complex projects over long time frames, which may extend 6 to 18 months in length
  • Monitors and supports application, database, and server backups
  • Performs monthly application releases, updates and patching
  • Troubleshoots and provides solutions to hardware and software problems and upgrade computer hardware and software as needed
  • Maintains server operating systems and functional differences between operating system vendors and versions
  • Administers, monitors, and maintains system for the Company in all environments
  • Assists system administration team with server provisioning using VMware virtual machine templates
  • Supports the planning of and performance of disaster recovery
  • Assists in projects as assigned by IT management
  • Complies with policies and procedures as required by compliance standards
  • Performance tunes and reviews systems as appropriate

WHAT YOU MUST POSSESS

Must Have:

  • High School Diploma required. Some college, preferred
  • Certifications including: CompTIA A+, Server+, Security+, Network +
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a Systems Admin role encompassing the following:
    • Experience in a helpdesk or service desk environment supporting over 500 users: IT administration with Microsoft Windows 10.
    • PC imaging and hardware deployment, group policy, workstation setup, remote assistance, Microsoft Active Directory and DNS preferred.
    • Active Directory
      • DNS/DHCP in a multi-site environment
      • Creation and administration of group policies to adhere to security standards and insurance of compliance standards
      • Role Based Access Control
    • VMware
      • Horizon VDI, VDEM and AppVolume
    • Networking
      • General understanding of IP network and routing technologies
    • Security Standards
      • CIS/DISA, PCI-DSS, SOC, HIPAA


  • At least one year of experience with Windows 2012R2 or above
