Immigration Attorney

Sanabria & Associates, PLLC is a fast-growing and highly respected law firm with offices throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Florida. We are currently seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join our team in one of our Maryland or Florida offices.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law and experience managing a diverse caseload in a fast-paced legal environment. We are looking for a motivated professional who is an excellent communicator, collaborative team member, effective leader, and self-starter. Candidates must possess strong business acumen, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, growth-oriented practice.


The selected attorney will be responsible for handling a substantial immigration caseload, maintaining day-to-day client relationships, managing and mentoring a team of paralegals, meeting critical deadlines, and serving as a trusted resource for clients and firm leadership. The ability to manage multiple priorities, oversee complex matters, and deliver exceptional client service is essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct consultations with prospective clients and evaluate immigration relief options
  • Develop and oversee legal strategies for complex immigration cases from intake through resolution
  • Manage a high-volume caseload, ensuring compliance with all court, agency, and filing deadlines
  • Supervise, mentor, and train paralegals and legal support staff to ensure quality case preparation and client service
  • Review, prepare, and approve applications, petitions, motions, briefs, waivers, and other immigration filings
  • Represent clients before Immigration Courts, USCIS, EOIR, ICE, and other government agencies as required
  • Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, appeals, and legal memoranda
  • Stay current on changes in immigration laws, regulations, policies, and relevant case law
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case strategy, progress, and expectations
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to improve case management processes and overall client outcomes
  • Participate in business development activities, community outreach, and marketing initiatives to expand the firm's immigration practice
  • Work one Saturday per month, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses tied to client retention and new client engagement
  • Handle master calendar hearings, individual hearings, asylum interviews, adjustment interviews, and other immigration proceedings
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight for cases involving family-based petitions, asylum, removal defense, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), U Visas, VAWA petitions, waivers, adjustment of status, consular processing, cancellation of removal, and other forms of immigration relief
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on complex immigration matters while maintaining the highest standards of legal representation and client advocacy

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  •     J.D. from an ABA Accredited Law School (required) 
  •     Active Bar License in Good Standing from any US State or PR (required) 
  •     Authorized to work in the US 
  •     Fluent in Spanish (required)
  •     Immigration experience (5 years or more)
