Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer

Location: Huntsville, AL

Position Overview

Created Solutions is seeking an experienced Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Huntsville, Alabama. In this role, you will lead and participate in analyses of current and future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts, as well as modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development to support MDS architecture assessment.

This position is ideal for an engineer with a strong understanding of missile defense architectures who can apply modeling, simulation, and technical analysis to evaluate future capabilities and identify solutions to evolving mission challenges.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Assess Missile Defense System capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps and improve system performance.
  • Assist in developing analysis plans and execute MDS simulation tools using DoD High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems.
  • Assess analysis results, prepare technical briefs and reports, and review analysis products.
  • Support modeling and simulation (M&S) efforts by tailoring tools to specific analysis plans and architecture assessment needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 7+ years of relevant experience in missile defense or another complex, large-scale DoD program or project.
  • Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Solid understanding of current Missile Defense System architecture and future concepts.
  • Experience modeling, assessing, and evaluating future missile defense architectures.
  • Experience with MATLAB.
Desired Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Experience defining and applying advanced concepts and algorithms for modeling and simulation of MDS architectures.
  • Experience with M&S and analysis of MDS architectures involving directed-energy and kinetic-energy weapons and other future concepts.
  • Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, Python, and Git.
  • Experience with BMD Benchmark.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering-related architecture design activities.
  • Ability to perform technology assessments and analyses and provide insight into the potential utility of emerging technologies.
  • Specialized MDS analysis experience in one or more of the following areas: threat characterization, trajectories, RF sensing/signatures, and EO/IR sensing/signatures.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience related to missile defense system architectures.
