Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer - AI to join a growing AI-focused engineering organization. This role will be instrumental in developing the next generation of intelligent software applications and business systems.
The Senior Full Stack Engineer will take end-to-end ownership of complex features and technical domains, contribute to architecture and design decisions, and help establish engineering best practices across the team. This position requires a highly autonomous engineer who can work across the full technology stack while also contributing to the development of AI-powered and agentic applications.
The ideal candidate combines strong full stack development expertise with hands-on experience integrating large language models and AI technologies into production applications.
Key ResponsibilitiesFull Stack Engineering
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable full stack applications using Python, FastAPI, React.js, and TypeScript.
  • Own the architecture of one or more product domains, including API design, data modeling, and frontend component strategy.
  • Build RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices with an emphasis on reliability, observability, scalability, and security.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and establish deployment standards and release quality gates.
  • Optimize application performance across the technology stack, including backend throughput, frontend rendering, and database query efficiency.
  • Develop solutions that are scalable, maintainable, secure, and production-ready.
AI & Agentic Application Development
  • Integrate large language model (LLM) services, including platforms such as OpenAI and Anthropic, into production applications.
  • Use AI orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or comparable technologies.
  • Contribute to the design and development of agentic user experiences, including conversational, workflow-driven, and context-aware interfaces.
  • Implement and extend tooling that enables AI agents to securely interact with application data and business functionality.
  • Apply prompt engineering techniques and participate in AI evaluation processes to improve the reliability and quality of AI-powered features.
  • Help establish engineering patterns and best practices for incorporating AI capabilities into enterprise applications.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Lead architecture discussions and document significant technical decisions through Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
  • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to technical standards across the engineering organization.
  • Conduct thoughtful code reviews that improve code quality and engineering practices.
  • Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pair programming, design sessions, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, UX, DevOps/SRE, QA/QE, and other cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release planning.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and onboarding materials.
Engineering Quality
  • Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
  • Maintain strong test coverage and engineering quality standards.
  • Identify and proactively address technical debt.
  • Lead or contribute to refactoring initiatives with consideration for business value and technical impact.
  • Uphold engineering quality gates covering linting, static analysis, security scanning, performance, and reliability.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6-10+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated growth in scope, ownership, and technical impact.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and hands-on production experience with FastAPI or a comparable asynchronous web framework.
  • Strong expertise in React.js and TypeScript.
  • Experience with modern frontend state management approaches such as Redux, Zustand, or Context API.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with microservices architectures.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and familiarity with ORMs.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud-native deployment patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating LLM APIs or developing AI-powered product features.
  • Experience implementing JWT/OAuth2 authentication and API security best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or comparable AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Familiarity with vector databases and semantic search technologies such as pgvector, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
  • Experience with real-time communication patterns, including WebSockets, Server-Sent Events (SSE), and streaming APIs.
  • Experience developing agentic applications or AI-enabled workflows.
  • Experience in entertainment, media, payroll, fintech, or other complex enterprise software environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile Release Train (ART) planning or SAFe methodologies.
  • Experience working in highly regulated, security-conscious, or enterprise-scale environments.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with regular onsite collaboration.
  • Availability to participate in on-call support as needed for production incidents and scheduled releases.
  • Ability to participate in occasional early-morning or evening meetings to collaborate with distributed teams.
