Job description

Title: Sr. Financial Analyst

Reports To: Sr. Director of Finance, Planning & Analysis

Department: Finance

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Position Status: Salary Exempt

Job Summary:

The Sr. Financial Analyst will support our financial analysis initiatives. We are looking for an experienced self-starter that can interact with numerous high-level stakeholders to investigate, analyze, and advise on financial matters.

What You'll Do:

  • Consolidate and validate data for business planning to support different teams.
  • Review and summarize driver-based results versus monthly actuals and obtains explanations for material or unusual variances.
  • Review trends to determine if drivers are appropriate or require modification.
  • Partner with all Department Leaders to understand business processes and gather information to drive profitability through analytics.
  • Use strong technical skills to pull, analyze, and present data to advise business decisions.
  • Develop reports and apply analytical methods (i.e., historical trends, ratios, comparisons, etc.) to evaluate whether forecasted members are reasonable and comply with the Company GAAP standards.
  • Use in depth understanding of the business and business drivers to help develop stronger business plans, improve margins, and improve efficiency.
  • Improve systems and processes to increase accuracy and/or efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • What You Need:

  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) required.
  • 7-10 years of analytical professional experience.
  • Advanced proficiency at Microsoft Excel (lookups, pivots, macros, modeling).
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to take the information that is presented, decide what is truly important and then determine what actions/choices are necessary to deliver the desired results versus current reality.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and time management skills to work independently and communicate with all levels of employees within the company; as well as collaboration cross-functionally to resolve problems, close forecast gaps, and coordinate plans and resolutions.
  • Snowflake SQL and Postgres SQL experience are desired, but not required.
  • Understanding of financial statements and statement analysis preferred.
  • Experience with corporate budgeting process preferred.
  • Systems thinking with background in basic programming preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours - due to the nature of our business, this position may be required to work extended hours during peak season, or for special urgent projects.
  • MBA preferred.
  • Ability to manage the stress of a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet the in-person requirements of the team and/or business needs.
