Job Description ProspectBlue has partnered with a reputable law firm in Richmond, VA and seeking an experienced financial professional to join the Finance team as a Senior Financial Analyst. This position plays a key role in supporting legal practice groups through financial planning, reporting, and strategic analysis. The successful candidate will partner with firm leadership to evaluate performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide data-driven recommendations that support business growth and profitability.

As a trusted advisor to practice leaders and attorneys, the Senior Financial Analyst will translate financial data into meaningful business insights, develop pricing and profitability models, and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple offices and departments to support operational and strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic financial partner to practice group leadership by analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, investigating variances, and providing actionable recommendations. Support practice leaders in preparing and presenting quarterly business reviews to executive management, including participation in performance discussions and planning sessions.

Develop pricing models and financial evaluations for client engagements and proposed matters, offering guidance on profitability enhancement and cost management strategies. Assist attorneys with the design, implementation, and monitoring of alternative billing arrangements, including budget tracking and profitability assessments. Conduct financial evaluations related to attorney recruitment initiatives, including analysis of projected revenue, billing rates, productivity expectations, compensation structures, and incentive programs.

Review recurring financial reports produced by junior analysts and coordinate distribution of finalized reporting packages to key stakeholders. Prepare financial performance reviews and executive summaries for significant client relationships, highlighting key metrics, trends, and opportunities. Administer calculations related to attorney incentive compensation programs and perform ongoing financial monitoring throughout the year.

Contribute to the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and modeling of compensation and incentive-related expenses. Collaborate with business services and administrative teams to address reporting needs and support firm leadership in achieving operational objectives. Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and responsiveness.

Maintain regular communication with Finance leadership regarding project status, priorities, and emerging business needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of five years of experience in financial analysis, business analytics, accounting, or a comparable discipline; an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with demonstrated experience utilizing Power BI for reporting and visualization. Familiarity with financial management systems such as Elite 3E and Advanced Financial Solutions/Xcelerate is preferred. Experience working with SQL, Python, or other data analysis and reporting tools is advantageous.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial information and formulate meaningful conclusions. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Exceptional discretion and judgment when handling confidential business information.

Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to audiences at all organizational levels.
