Job description

Senior Estimator – Civil | Federal | Public Works

📍 Near Portland, OR (100% Onsite)

💲$160,000 to $185,000 DOE + Bonus


We're partnering with a well-established General Contractor that's built an outstanding reputation delivering complex federal, public works, heavy civil, utility, structural concrete, and commercial construction projects throughout the West Coast and Hawaii.


Due to continued growth, they're looking to add a Senior Estimator to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working on challenging projects, has a strong estimating background, and wants to be part of a company where their input genuinely matters.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual budgets through final bid estimates
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing
  • Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and bid documents
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier proposals
  • Develop bid strategies and identify project risks and value engineering opportunities
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Operations, and field teams throughout the preconstruction process
  • Support proposal development and project handoff after award
  • Help improve estimating procedures and overall preconstruction operations


Qualifications

  • 10+ years focused on estimating Federal, Public Works, Heavy Civil, Utilities, Structural Concrete, Commercial Construction projects for a GC
  • Experience with both Hard Bid and Design-Build projects
  • Strong proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) and Microsoft Excel
  • Solid understanding of construction means, methods, and cost estimating
  • Able to manage multiple bids while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines
