Job description

Teufel Landscape is a leading provider of commercial landscape construction, specializing in landscape installation, irrigation systems, pedestal pavers, planters, woodwork, amenity spaces, and green roofs. We're seeking a highly experienced and independent Estimator to join our team. This role demands exceptional technical expertise, leadership in managing high-value bids, and a strong command of estimating software and industry relationships.

Position Overview

The Estimator II is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial landscape construction projects. This role independently manages bids, analyzes project plans, coordinates with vendors and internal teams, and supports successful project acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete and accurate estimates for small to mid-sized construction project
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop labor, material, and pricing assumptions
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and addenda to define full project scope
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor pricing; maintain strong vendor relationships
  • Coordinate with Business Development, Operations, and estimating leadership throughout the bid process
  • Ensure all bids meet internal standards for accuracy, completeness, and deadlines
  • Present estimates for internal review and support project handoff to Operations as needed
  • Maintain organized documentation and follow company estimating processes and safety standards
  • Collaborate with senior estimators and support training of junior staff when applicable

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial landscape estimating
  • Advanced knowledge of landscape construction, irrigation systems, and materials
  • Expert-level proficiency with estimating tools, including Sage/Timberline, PlanSwift, ProCore, Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Proven ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical specifications
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen
