Job description


Role: Senior Engineer
Location: Cudahy, Wisconsin
Onsite
Full-Time
Deliver high-impact engineering and consulting solutions across a diverse range of projects and clients. This role offers hands-on involvement throughout the project lifecycle, including leading or performing field investigations, conducting engineering analysis and calculations, and developing practical, innovative recommendations.
You'll play a key role in the design and development of plans and specifications, conduct site observation and inspections, and contribute to the preparation, review, and delivery of professional engineering reports. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to review drawings and construction activities, ensuring quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
In addition to technical work, you'll help shape project success by preparing proposals and cost estimates, monitoring schedules and budgets, and identifying opportunities for improvement. You'll research and solve complex design and construction challenges, evaluate laboratory and field data, and translate findings into clear, actionable conclusions.
This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives on applying sound engineering principles while clearly communicating complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. Projects may span exciting sectors such as public works, transportation, commercial development, communications, energy, and industrial - offering variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
Responsibilities
  • Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrating safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects.
  • Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
  • Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.
  • Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk and how to protect the Company. Be familiar with company risk policies.
  • Senior level engineering professional providing technical direction required for production and completion of both routine and unique or complex projects.
  • Responsible for conceptualizing the initial design and/or investigative approach for a major phase of a large project or have overall responsibility for the engineering work on a project of moderate scope.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinates engineering work involving conventional engineering practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
  • Provide review of projects requiring complex and innovative investigation techniques and supervise the analysis and formulation of recommendations in written reports to clients; provides technical review of reports.
  • Lead technical training and make informed decisions based upon state of the art technology issues.
  • Provide leadership of marketing, sales and business development.
  • Supervise less experienced engineers or technical support personnel on projects.
  • Serve as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 8-11 years' experience.
  • Master's degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
  • Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required.
  • Authorized Project Reviewer status preferred.
