As a Senior Electronics Systems Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for the development of Flight Control Computers (FCCs), Actuator Control Units (ACUs), and Motor Control Electronics (MCEs) that support primary and secondary flight control systems. Working across the full product lifecycle, from concept development and requirements definition through verification, certification, and deployment, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and directly engage with customers to deliver innovative, high-reliability aerospace solutions.
The Senior Electronics Systems Engineer has an opportunity to make a significant technical impact while working on some of the aerospace industry's most advanced flight control technologies in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
As a Senior Electronics Systems Engineer, you will:
  • Represent Moog as a recognized technical authority and project leader.
  • Guide the evolution of the conceptual and detailed design phases through verification, certification and deployment.
  • Serve as a technical reference point for internal and external communications.
  • Conduct systematic capture, development and documentation of fully verifiable electronics box level requirements that acknowledges technical, schedule, and cost constraints through consulting with customers and staff.
  • Conduct functional analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate systems requirements allocated to electronics into electronic hardware specifications. Effectively communicate these internal design requirements to the other members of the design team and supporting disciplines.
  • Develop Verification and Validation plans and procedures for testing electronic designs, and research and implement innovative test methods and approaches.
  • Perform hardware and software integration testing, including investigation of any performance anomalies.
  • Create concise reports that document the design decisions and analysis results.
  • Support various aspects of technical project planning, including designs, proposals, cost estimates, schedules and technical interface meetings throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Prepare, organize, and make presentations to customers in support of design reviews and technical interface meetings.
  • Support project status briefings with clear and effective reports and presentations.
  • Contribute to the development of new product requirements through consulting with customers.
  • Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its leading-edge technical reputation.
  • Support programs with some travel (5-10%) and the participation in presentations to customers.

To be considered for Senior Electronics Systems Engineer, here's what you'll typically bring with you:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 7 or more years of design & development engineering experience
  • 4 or more years designing/analyzing electromechanical systems
  • Experience with the verification of electronics assemblies per MIL-STD-461, 704, 810, and DO-254 standards.
  • Experience with development and execution of Acceptance Test, Highly Accelerated Life Tests and Environmental Stress Screening.

It is preferred if you bring:
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Aircraft actuation controller design experience
  • Requirements flow-down experience
  • Actuator sensor interface experience
  • Qualification and certification experience
  • Strong team player with leadership mindset

Torrance, CA $150,000.00-$200,000.00 Annually
