Position Summary
George-McKenna Electric is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee multiple commercial electrical construction projects throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This senior-level leadership position is responsible for directing field operations, managing superintendents and field personnel, ensuring project safety, maintaining quality standards, and driving projects to successful completion on schedule and within budget.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive commercial electrical construction experience, exceptional leadership skills, strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and the ability to effectively coordinate with project managers, owners, general contractors, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Field Operations
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for electrical field operations across multiple commercial construction projects.
  • Supervise and mentor Electrical Superintendents, Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, and subcontractors.
  • Establish workforce plans and staffing requirements to meet project schedules and production goals.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Project Management Support
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and construction documents prior to project startup.
  • Participate in project planning meetings, scheduling sessions, and coordination meetings.
  • Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, delays, and productivity challenges.
  • Monitor labor productivity and implement corrective actions when necessary.

Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Conduct regular jobsite safety inspections and safety meetings.
  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with NEC requirements, local codes, project specifications, and quality standards.
  • Investigate and document safety incidents and implement corrective measures.

Quality Control
  • Perform regular field inspections to ensure quality workmanship.
  • Verify installations are completed according to approved plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate inspections with authorities having jurisdiction and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure successful project turnover and completion documentation.

Resource Management
  • Coordinate material procurement, equipment needs, and workforce allocation.
  • Work with vendors, suppliers, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor project progress and provide detailed field reports to senior leadership.
  • Assist in forecasting labor requirements and manpower planning.

Client & Stakeholder Relations
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
  • Represent GME professionally during project meetings and site visits.
  • Address client concerns promptly and effectively.

Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum of 10 years of commercial electrical construction experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as an Electrical Superintendent or Senior Field Leader.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial electrical systems and installation methods.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale commercial projects and multiple field teams simultaneously.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout the DFW area.

Preferred
  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Texas Master Electrician License.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with healthcare, data center, industrial, education, municipal, and large commercial projects.
  • Experience managing projects exceeding $5 million in electrical scope.

Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and navigate uneven terrain.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
