We have partnered with a large engineering services company in the Metro DC area to provide them with a Senior Electrical Engineer.   Please review the description below and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Senior Electrical Engineer:

#1.  BS in Electrical Engineering

#2.  Active Electrical PE

#3. 10–15 years consulting engineering experience

#4. Power systems design for commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education, or federal facilities

#5. SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software

Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer:

  • Must be well versed in all aspects of electrical systems design and specification
  • Perform the following functions:
    • Design of electrical systems
    • Manage and design multiple concurrent projects
    • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings
    • Lead design team efforts
    • Manage project team for budget and schedule control
    • Develop fee and qualification-based proposals
  • Must be familiar with electrical/energy codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, IECC, etc.)
  • Must have SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software experience.
  • The focus of the experience must be in the power industry associated with electrical engineering and design of Industrial, higher education, healthcare, federal government and/or commercial projects.
  • Experience with lighting design is desired, but not required.
  • Experience with Telecom, A/V, Cybersecurity, and security designs is desired, but not required.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint software preferred.
  • Conduct marketing/business development activities.
  • Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale.
  • Ability to travel.

Requirements of the Senior Electrical Engineer:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S) in Electrical engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • 10 to 15 years of experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project Management experience and/or certifications.
  • Desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams.
  • Local AHJ experience and relationships is a plus.
  • Active local industry involvement is a plus.

Other Key Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in the office four (4) days a week
  • Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
  • No sponsorships or visa holders.  No Corp-to-Corp.
