Transportation Driver

Job Title: Transportation Driver

Location: Lincoln, Nebraska

Reports to: Transportation Director

Position Type: Part-Time, Weekends and Evenings

Job Summary:

The Transportation Driver at Emerald Nursing and Rehab Lancaster is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting residents to and from appointments, activities, and other destinations as required. This role ensures that residents receive timely, reliable transportation while maintaining the highest standards of safety and comfort.

Work Environment:

Role involves working both indoors and outdoors, including handling vehicle-related tasks and interacting with residents in various settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Resident Transport: Safely transport residents to medical appointments, therapy sessions, social activities, and other destinations as scheduled.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on transportation vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Report any issues to the maintenance department.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws and facility policies regarding vehicle safety and resident transportation.
  • Assistance and Support: Provide assistance to residents entering and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of transportation schedules, mileage, and any incidents or observations during trips.
  • Communication: Coordinate with facility staff, family members, and external providers to ensure effective and timely transportation arrangements.
