Mechanical Draftsman Job Description:

There is presently a great need for a highly-motivated Mechanical Draftsman with the ability to produce design deliverables from design sketches, layouts and/or concepts to support manufacture, assembly and test.  We are looking for a candidate with the desire to develop skills through on-the-job experience and continued education to advance in the design profession.


Required:

  • High School diploma/GED or Vocational High School diploma
  • 2-6 years of design experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints drawings 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in drafting (portfolio) with Computer Aided Design (CAD) is required (NX preferred)

Preferred:

  • Two year Technical School/College
  • Experience with mechanical systems
  • Experience with CATIA and/or NX
  • Experience in Design for Six Sigma, Lean Design/Manufacturing

  • Must be willing to work in a collaborative and team environment. 
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and problem solving skills. 
  • Must possess strong computer skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Ability to perform design related math functions
  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions and drawings (blueprints)
  • Firm understanding of Design Standards, Manufacturing Processes and Military Specifications including GD&T
