Job description

Senior Fixed Wing Aviation Military Analyst

The Senior Fixed Wing Aviation Military Analyst provides expert analysis and strategic support for Army fixed-wing aviation operations, capability development, requirements generation, and modernization initiatives. The position supports studies, operational assessments, technology evaluations, and Joint capability development efforts while providing subject matter expertise on the tactical employment of Army fixed-wing aircraft. The analyst leads working groups, develops requirements documentation, contributes to capability-based assessments, and produces high-quality white papers, concept papers, operational views, and other analytical products supporting Army and Joint aviation requirements.

Job Requirements:

  • Rated Army Aviator with a minimum of 15 years of Army aviation flight and combat operations experience.
  • Army Fixed-Wing aviation experience required.
  • Dual-qualified Military Intelligence and Aviation Branch officer/warrant officer.
  • Senior or Master Army Aviator Badge required.
  • Completion of military or civilian equivalent professional education comparable to CGSC/ILE or the Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course.
  • Experience as a Standardization Instructor Pilot (SIP) or Instructor Pilot (IP) in Army fixed-wing aviation formations.
  • Experience operating current Army fixed-wing aircraft fielded to Army aviation units.
  • Tactical operational staff experience supporting planning, training, and mission execution within Army fixed-wing organizations of 50 to 170+ personnel.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting combat and/or capability development activities.
  • Tactical operational management experience leading organizations of 400+ personnel.
  • Experience as a Maintenance Test Pilot (MTP) or Examiner in Army fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Experience planning, facilitating, and executing Joint Working Groups.
  • Experience leading aviation studies focused on capability development and technology assessment.
  • Ability to provide detailed analysis regarding the tactical employment of Army fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Experience leading a team that authored a Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC)-approved JCIDS document.
  • Experience as a direct contributor to the Army Aviation Operations Capabilities-Based Assessment (CBA).
  • Worldwide Army fixed-wing operational experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently produce and review graduate-level white papers, concept papers, requirements documents, operational views, and related deliverables with minimal Government revisions.
  • Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required.
