The role
The Senior Director of Global Lifecycle Strategy will drive measurable business results through lifecycle communication investments throughout our customer journey - from acquisition, to retention and reactivation - for both supply and demand sides of our marketplace. This role is responsible for driving business impact by accelerating new and repeat conversions through lifecycle-led growth.
What you'll do
Set and drive the strategy for how lifecycle contributes to significant growth outcomes across Rover's four brands and 18 countries. Own the strategy for both pet parents and care providers.
  • Design and drive key metrics for measuring lifecycle performance across conversion, retention, reactivation, and monetization
  • Identify the highest leverage opportunities in the customer journey to drive growth, and drive alignment across the business in how we prioritize those investments
  • Partner with executive leadership to align lifecycle strategy with company-wide growth objectives.
  • Effectively influence the global strategic roadmap through effective cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Product, Data Science, Analytics, and Brand
  • Drive business cases and secure buy-in for lifecycle resourcing and program bets

Cross-functional delivery
Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning Product, Data Science, Engineering, Brand, and Operations to deliver cohesive lifecycle experiences
  • Ensure foundational data, infrastructure, platform tools, and measurement are in place to run a high-functioning program
  • Collaborate with Product teams on shared user journey roadmaps that prioritize customer needs and the problems we need to solve to achieve business objectives
  • Partner with Data Science and Analytics to both develop predictive models that improve lifecycle investment priorities and implement scalable testing methods
  • Collaborate with Brand to ensure we have well crafted and scalable messaging and creative strategies for running the lifecycle program

Drive excellence in lifecycle program delivery
  • Build programs heavily indexed toward automation that enable scaled results
  • Consistently apply best practices in design of lifecycle technical architecture - from data design, CDP implementation, CRM tooling - to enable quality and scale
  • Implement best in class lifecycle segmentation and personalization methods to drive improvements in campaign scalability and performance
  • In partnership with Product, design multi-channel engagement programs that holistically contemplate in-product messaging, push, email, and SMS channel investments

Develop and grow high performing lifecycle team
  • Build and coach a high-performing team of lifecycle strategists and lifecycle technical operations to deliver against the forward-looking needs of the business
  • Implement a highly analytical culture focused on finding leverage in the journey, rigorous and pace-oriented experimentation, and data-driven decision making

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in, Lifecycle Strategy, Email Strategy, or Growth
  • Proven track record of building high performing lifecycle programs that have demonstrated material impact on growth businesses
  • Experience successfully prioritizing lifecycle bets by understanding product opportunities, impacts,and risks.
  • Deep experience partnering with data science, marketing technology teams, and analysts to develop lifecycle data strategy, experimentation and measurement methods, and to inform forward looking investments
  • Strong technical background in CRM platform design (Iterable, Braze) and CDP requirements for successful lifecycle programs
  • Best in class knowledge of lifecycle channels, particularly: in web/app, push, email, and SMSProven experience working with analytical measurement tools like Amplitude to identify opportunities and measure program results
  • Enjoys operating in a highly matrixed environment and is very effective at driving cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior partners without direct authority
  • Experience operating in consumer tech companies and/or marketplaces strongly preferred

Compensation
  • In the Greater Seattle Area the first-year salary range is $196,726 - $261,646 with a 20% bonus. Additionally, Rover offers a long-term incentive plan with a company performance-based cash payout and benefits to full-time employees.
  • The cash compensation offered for this role will be dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, and abilities as demonstrated in the interview and hiring process.
