Job Summary:

As the Sr. Director of Operations & Maintenance, you will ultimately be responsible for leading national and regional telecommunications operations and maintenance programs, driving operational excellence, and ensuring successful delivery of infrastructure services. You will lead operations teams, program managers, contractors, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality maintenance solutions while meeting customer expectations, safety standards, and business objectives. As the Sr. Director of Operations & Maintenance, your customers are internal operations teams and external telecommunications clients, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company’s success through operational leadership, process improvement, risk mitigation, and strategic execution.

Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

• Lead national and regional operations and maintenance programs supporting fiber, wireless, and telecommunications infrastructure.

• Oversee the full lifecycle of OSP maintenance activities from ticket acceptance through completion while ensuring quality, safety, budget, and schedule compliance.

• Lead, mentor, and develop operations teams while managing contractor, subcontractor, and vendor performance through KPIs and performance reviews.

• Drive process improvements through standardized workflows, dashboards, reporting, scheduling, resource allocation, and data analytics.

• Collaborate with engineering, permitting, procurement, finance, legal, field operations, and customers to support successful program execution and business growth.

• Provide executive-level reporting, operational insights, and recommendations to improve performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

• Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

Education, Licensing, and Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in telecommunications construction, operations, maintenance, or program management.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience leading large-scale infrastructure programs and senior-level teams.

• Experience managing multi-million-dollar telecommunications programs across multiple geographic regions.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong knowledge of OSP/ISP construction practices, fiber deployment, and wireless infrastructure.

• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and operational performance.

• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.

• Experience leading nationwide telecommunications operations and maintenance programs.

• Experience supporting large-scale fiber and wireless network infrastructure deployments.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in an office environment and travel regularly to field sites and regional offices.

• Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends to support critical operational milestones.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
