Your Role at Cabot:
Cabot Corporation is seeking a Sr Digital Business Relationship Manager (BRM) with Finance and Accounting experience to join the Global Digital organization at our Alpharetta, GA location.
The Sr BRM will drive Digital strategy across finance and accounting management activities such as general accounting, costing, consolidation and financial reporting. This role requires transactional, business and/or corporate finance process knowledge with digital solutions expertise to drive innovation and enhance business value.
This person understands both business and digital to drive innovation and shape demand for technology that increases business value. The BRM represents Digital and works closely with specific business units, regions, and business functions. Their objective is to converge business and Digital as true strategic partners and ensure business value results.
The Sr BRM partners with the R2R Global Process Owner, regional accounting and corporate finance leadership, integrating Finance and Digital as strategic partners. The Sr BRM is responsible for capturing the business needs, assisting in the prioritization of projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that provides maximum return on investment, and assisting with the development of Digital strategy. They collaborate with regional digital partners, enterprise architects, project managers, business analysts, and data teams to align projects with business needs and technology. This role focuses on evolving culture, building strategic partnerships with the Finance & Accounting community and driving business value through information and technology.
This role is eligible to participate in Cabot's current Flexible Working Arrangement/hybrid program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).
How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Serve as the point of escalation for digital day-to-day operations and are also accountable to drive our vision of exceptional experiences by partnering with the different digital groups and managed service providers in a culture of shared ownership.
  • Accountable for the delivery of enhancements, projects and proactive understanding and tracking activity (e.g., tickets, requests, customer feedback metrics) related to their functional area(s) understanding trends to shape future demand
  • Collaborate with the Global Process Owner, delivery center leaders, and Finance leadership team on project awareness, pre-project ideation, evaluation of proposals, build business cases, and plan new initiatives.
  • Consult with solutions and enterprise architects to develop capability roadmaps and determine how they fit into enterprise-wide capability roadmaps and priorities.
  • Ensure business case value realization and optimization, from business plans through consultancy, business case development, financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities to add value.
  • Operationalize the IT strategy, deliver on-time and in-budget, enable/advocate for the necessary process transformations, and finally ensure adoption and value realization.
  • Ensure project and initiative progress, including consistent and effective communication. This includes managing escalation and avoiding risk.
  • Monitor Performance and KPI's to ensure services are aligned with customer needs, are delivered and value is delivered by technology to the business.
  • Develop deep knowledge of the Finance & Accounting function and build positive relationships, both horizontally and vertically, to ensure that the finance & accounting function's strategy and key performance indicators are identified and leveraged for effective Digital demand shaping.
  • Elevate Digital into a strategic partner via strong partnership with functional leaders to evolve culture and organizational behavior by coaching finance & accounting business partners to articulate the technology needs and requirements in their function that will advance business performance.

What You'll Bring to Cabot:
  • Bachelor's degree with related discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years of related experience (inclusive of digital business relationship management between IT/assigned customer groups and F&A-related responsibilities).
  • Experience facilitating the development and implementation of digital business initiatives and projects based on general accounting, costing, and financial reporting organizational objectives.
  • Experience across one or more of the following ERP Systems (JD Edwards, SAP, or other ERP system).
  • Prior experience understanding business needs and a demonstrated track record of creating technology solutions to solve business problems to deliver technology solutions that create business value. (globally, or across multiple divisions or regions within a single company).
  • Prior experience creating business requirements documents, use cases, user acceptance test plans, process flow and data flow diagrams.
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions in the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with, influence and motivate others using diplomacy, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical or complex subject matter in business terms.
  • An exceptional listener, able to comprehend what is said and probe important details to get to the true business requirements.
