About the Role:
LifeSciences Regulatory Solutions, LLC is looking for a driven and experienced Senior Business Development and Government Affairs Specialist to join our growing team in Columbia, MD. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in expanding our reach and influence within the life sciences and regulatory landscape. This role will support and execute business development and operational objectives to drive pipeline growth, strengthen client relationships, and advance organizational initiatives. This role requires an experienced professional who can step in quickly, independently manage client requests and calls, and collaborate seamlessly with internal teams—without direct team-management responsibilities. 

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the full business development lifecycle, including tracking new leads, evaluating opportunities, and scheduling and conducting follow-up calls and meetings.
  • Engage directly with clients to review current projects, address concerns, and identify future opportunities.
  • Develop client NDAs, proposals, budgets, Master Services Agreements (MSAs), and amendments in collaboration with the Business Development Associate and President. 
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, webinars, virtual meetings, and other BD-related events.
  • Support lead generation and outreach efforts through networking, conferences, and industry engagement.
  • Foster strong professional relationships with medical thought leaders, industry partners, economic development agencies, investor groups, incubators, and international organizations.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers and Operations to support onboarding of new clients, track changes in scope, develop amendments, and assist with project close-outs.
  • Maintain CRM systems, client records, business documents, and all related business development data.
  • Work closely with Finance to support client administration tasks, including contracting and invoicing as well as operational and expense tracking for business development activities. 
  • Identify, assess, and communicate project risks and opportunities; provide status updates to senior management and clients.
  • Stay informed on industry landscapes, funding developments, competitor activities, new programs, and emerging opportunities. Also provide insights into operational excellence, continuous improvement, and strategic planning. 
  • Organize, support, and collaborate with the marketing team to develop and maintain marketing materials, including website updates, collateral, presentations, webinars, and boot camps.
  • Maintain and update business templates and documents as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements:
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams; highly customer focused.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong presentation (webinar and in-person) capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management ability.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience developing budgets, slide presentations, and reports.
  • Ability to work independently, reliably, and remotely, with flexibility to accommodate project needs.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and dynamic environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and virtual conferencing platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of drug or medical device development, regulatory processes, biotechnology, or medical/healthcare terminology.
  • Experience with CRM systems and managing client data.
  • Knowledge of economic development, international business environments, or government programs.
  • Experience with conference or webinar management.
