PBGH currently has a great opportunity for a Senior Denim Designer. This role is primarily responsible for creating and executing original denim designs for Walmart?s Private Label Brands: Scoop, Free Assembly, and Terra & Sky. The Senior Designer will create products from development through production with a focus on fit, fabric, finish and costing. The Senior Designer must be able to identify emerging fashion trends and business opportunities to be at the forefront of design in this zone. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Research and identify trend and fit direction
  • Shop retail marketplace, and Walmart and its direct competitors for inspiration and product opportunities
  • Plan and design the line according to style plans, sales needs, and emerging trends
  • Develop product and marketing concepts for new items, emerging trends, and franchises
  • Develop fabrics, wash/color palettes, special trims, and styling details
  • Ensure product is being designed within cost parameters, and changes are clearly and quickly communicated to relevant CFT partners as needed
  • Communicate and collaborate daily with Walmart designers on seasonal development, emerging trends, and new whitespaces or fabric opportunities
  • Work with suppliers and Walmart designers on execution to make sure the elements fall within our cost targets
  • Manage all overseas communication with sample facilities for sample execution
  • Attend all fittings, including but not limited to comparison fittings, first proto fittings and production fittings
  • Give concise feedback to technical design on how to adjust garments
  • Ensure production fits are to our specifications
  • Merchandise and style showrooms for presentations to sales
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales on collateral for buyers and in store marketing needs
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships with sales, production, tech, fabric R&D and marketing
  • Manage/update collateral being shared with CFT and Walmart Design team, including but not limited to sketches, CADS, line sheets, etc.
  • Partner with Technical Design and 3D team to create renderings of Design proposals, for aesthetic and cost review
  • Organize sketch and/or sample reviews with CFT prior to handing off assets or styles to the Walmart Design team
  • See tasks through to execution
  • Prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Work closely with Director of Design, VPs of Sales and production teams in all aspects of product development
  • Sr. Designer should be prepared to take on additional responsibilities, changes in process, and learn new programs and technologies as needed to work with Walmart
